The new church of Saint Mary of the Graces was
inaugurated in 1959. Reportedly Padre Pio was not happy with it's size
and called it "a mousetrap" and "a matchbox". |

When the new church if Saint
Mary of the Graces was built, a new wing of the convent was inaugurated.
It was connected to the old convent through a large room.
The hall was located in the cloistered area
between the old and new wings of the convent.
The St. Francis hall is so called because of a
fresco painting by the local artist Antonio Ciccone.
Only men ware allowed
in. Everybody was spontaneously on his knees meeting Padre Pio.
