Richard Caccioppoli, USA;

Christine Felton in Seattle, Washington, USA

“I found your e-mail address on the Internet while searching for surnames in my family history.

My maternal grandfather was John Grieco, son of Giacinto Grieco and Carmela Caccioppoli Grieco. I believe Carmela Caccioppoli was born somewhere near Naples before emigrating to New York City.

Do you think our families are related? Please write. Sincerely, Christine Felton.”

 Maureen Casey, Seattle, Washington, USA.

Maureen is 1st cousin to Christine Felton, and 2nd great granddaughter of Noè Caccioppoli and Filomena Cuomo.

She has been doing extensive research on this branch of her family.

Her great grandmother Carmela Caccioppoli married Giacinto Grieco who was also from Vico Equense.

There are some branches of the tree she hasn't been able to fill in.

She met Robert Caccioppoli and his family for the first time at a family reunion.

  Chris Caccioppoli, Jersey, USA

They actually did it.

They actually made a Caccioppoli.com who would have thought.

I’m Chris Caccioppoli (I pronounce it Kuh-Chop-O-Lee) from Jersey and I love the fact that you all made a site for us, we are a rare name and as I like people to think, a powerful one.

I see someone from my “faction” of Caccioppoli’s has already contacted you (Robert and Richard from Long Island, 2nd Cousins to me) and I think what you are doing is great, and expand expand expand!

We should never stop exploring our heritage and we should try to include all who shared that name on the page, maybe a little bio of each member, who knows, I’d like to keep in touch with each of you and everyone who holds this great name.

Just a little about me, I’m 18, from Jersey, currently go to school in NY, majoring in Television.

And I like that step you’ve all taken to get our name out there, don't you worry in a few years the entertainment world will know it too :)

Keep In Touch Chris

My name is Carolyn Zambell.  My father was Thomas Marrone.  His mother was Agnese Caccioppoli.  In searching for Caccioppoli information I came upon your web page and I am very grateful for the information you have listed there.  Even though I could not find the link I was looking for, it is a wonderful site.  My grandparents arrived in the late 1890s from Vico Equense and were married in Manhattan.  He arrived in 1896 and sent for her after he was settled.  Her parents were Michele Caccioppoli and Tomasina Finestra.  My grandfather Francesco Marronès parents were Giovanni Marrone and Fortunata Esposto or Esposito.  Were there other churches that they could have been married in (I am referring to Agnese parents) and is that why they were not among the Caccioppoli's baptismal records either?  Thank you again for the time you and your family invested in making this site possible.  From a very grateful Caccioppoli descendant.  Carolyn Zambell

3-24-2005

Hello, my name is Carolyn Zambell.  My grandmother was a Caccioppoli.  I found the Caccioppoli web site last week and left a message.  I have been waiting anxiously to hear from someone in the Caccioppoli family but have not heard anything and I couldn't wait any longer.  I wanted to tell you how grateful I am for your family's  time and the effort they have made to put this site together.
I know our family was from Vico Equense but I could not find any relatives on the list of marriages and baptisms on your web site.  I was wondering if  they know of  any other  churches in the area that your family did not visit. If they do maybe you could send me the names so I could write to the church itself.  I was disappointed not to find them but the search goes on.  My grandmother's name was Agnese.  Her parents were Michele Caccioppoli and Tomasina Finestra.  She had a sister named Angelina but she immigrated also.  Please write back. If nothing else but to let me know you received this.  Thanks, Carolyn

Dear Carolyn, sorry for not answering sooner to your 2 emails messages. But I have been working on it. I plan to insert a full page about Vico Equense. Vico is not a big town, but is geographically spread out over a vast area, with about a dozen villages, each of them having their own parish. I consulted the records of only one parish in Vico. I planned to do more, but I didn’t. Maybe I might be lucky and get help from the local people. As soon that I have prepared the page, I will let you know. Thanks for the kind words. Do you mind if I put your email and message on the Caccioppoli site? I might need to know the State in which you live. Ciao. Happy Easter. Giuseppe Caccioppoli

3-25-2005

Dear Giuseppe, I am so glad you answered my email, I have been looking each day hoping to hear something from you.  After arriving in New York and living there for ten years the family moved to New Jersey.  That is where I am from and I have a few cousins still in this area.  There are a number of Caccioppoli descendants who will be trilled when I tell them about your site.  I wanted to wait until I heard from you before I spread the news.
I would be honored if you put my message on your site.  I will be looking forward to hearing from you again.  Carolyn

While waiting for more comprehensive information, this is the list of the 13 Parishes in Vico Equense, with the name of the Saint to which the church is dedicated, the zip code, and the name of the village in Vico Equense, were the parish is located. This way you have a full address to write to.

Vico Equense is a town of about 20.000 people. It extends from sea level up to almost 4000 feet of Monte Faito.

13 Parishes are in the area of Vico Equense, 2 in the center and 11 in the surrounding villages.
